This head-to-toe new collection takes the iconic, bold and visual features of these events, adding a modern Vans touch to them and enriching them with our heritage checkerboard patterns. Featuring bold details that contrast with the micro checkerboard, this collection shows its loyalty to the past and appeals to future generations that support African surfing culture with its lively design.
The Mami Wata Style 36 Decon VR3 SF combines sustainable design with our surf-based sidestripe shoe. Featuring a 50% organic cotton canvas and responsibly sourced suede uppers, a biobased foam VR3Cush™ footbed and a VR3Waffle™ outsole using renewable natural rubber for ultimate comfort, these deconstructed low tops combine modern and vintage details.
Our team has set ambitious sustainability goals. All our efforts, big or small, contribute to positive change. To earn the VR3 Checkerboard world logo, at least 30% of the product must be produced from recycled, renewable and/or regenerative materials.
PRODUCT FEATURES
• TOP PIECE MATERIAL: Produced from 50% Organic Cotton Canvas and Suede. Vans leather products support production from responsible sources with the Leather Working Group.
• FOOTSOLE: The new VR3Cush™ footbed is manufactured using at least 25% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plant-based sources, in accordance with ASTM D6866-16 test standard.
• Outsole: All rubber (60% of the component) used to manufacture the VR3Waffle™ outsole is renewable natural rubber sourced from farms that use agricultural practices aimed at supporting biodiversity, improving water cycles, improving soil health and/or sequestering carbon. This new rubber compound has been developed and manufactured to provide the grip and durability that has been synonymous with Vans since '66.
